Take a look at all of my photos again.

If you look at all of the photos you'll see that I have more than twice as many "soft" (absorptive) treatments in that room as I do "hard" (diffusive/reflective) ones. That large rose-colored, curved central panel and all of those flat, cream-colored panels used throughout the room are mostly for absorption.

Absorptive treatments are the more economically and physically effective types, and so are preferable for use in corners for things like basstrapping, for use at first reflection points throughout the room, etc...

Diffusors and reflectors are more like "the icing on the cake". Diffusors and reflectors (of the right types and in sufficient numbers) also help eliminate standing waves, etc.., but in my system are mostly helpful for restoring the sense of "air and space" that the absorptive treatments diminish somewhat.
