If the goal is to reduce sound reflections, wouldn't you want to use soft "traps" that absorb rather than reflect. Drapes, curtains, rugs, etc. seem more appropriate, at least to my eyes. Ceiling treatments do pose a problem, perhaps some sort of stretched fabric between two curtain rods? A professional designer may have additional ideas.
