Tube gear sound can differ so much in sonic presentation, it's almost impossible to say.

Do you want looser, flabbier, warmer sound ?

Or do you want tighter, leaner, cooler sound - more like the sound that is associated with SS gear ? You can get either type of sound with tube gear. More so than with most SS gear amplification components, the end results so often depend on design of the tube components and/or the speakers and associated electronics you're using.

You know about or have read about the difficulties involved in some types of "system matching", I'm sure. Or maybe you've forgotten ?
