I am splitting (via Monster y-connectors) the analog output from my Tosh 3109 DVD/HDCD player to my receiver and to an S-VHS vcr. My intent is to be able to get the decoded HDCD signal to the receiver or to get the down-mixed audio from DVDs to my vcr for taping DVDs (I haven't actually tried to tape a DVD, so I don't even know if I can! I just thought I might want to someday, so I made the connections while I had access to the back of my gear [which is another story in itself!]). So the question is...am I degrading the decoded HDCD signal with this set-up?
