I really enjoyed it. I had no idea I would be treated to more, akin to finding important hitherto unknown Beatles tracks, a pile of Cole Porter songs, important stuff.
The surprise, shock actually, was the soaking naked autobiographical quality. I didn't see that coming.
The delivery was powerful, passionate, the performance artist inspired, hence at very best.

As for your analogy, the former is an anathema (hardly the first), the latter mere joke ... big difference.
