They must not be into hard media at all in that case.
I would suggest a tuner then.
Or, a media server, as opposed to streaming.
I recently picked up some nice home theater gear used at some very low cost; seems that it was too DIFFICULT to use in the family setting. This may be a factor.
Probably, THE FACTOR, is how easy it is to use the system. Tubes, no, no, in that case.
You can stream from a Pi that costs about $100.00 to put together. A laptop can be a media server, though.
