RE: The MP3 is finally dead

It has been well known for many years that AAC which Apple has been using for it's music downloads sound significantly better than MP3 at a given bitrate. AAC 256Kbs from Apple is excellent for mass market consumer consumption, but I still rip my own CDs in uncompressed lossless format.

The point is almost moot because downloads have been in decline industry wide. Streaming is where it's at and we have a few services that offer high quality lossless streaming.
