RE: Interesting Jerrold Tube Antenna System

Yup, that's why it used to be called "CATV". Some apartment buildings used it for quite some time because rabbit ears just suck in them. Also, because of the UHF losses in the coax they started downconverting UHF to unused VHF channels. Later TVs came out with the CATV "band" which allowed them more channels.
