RE: Interesting Jerrold Tube Antenna System

Those Jerrold units were RF amplifiers used in community TV systems. A TV antenna was placed on a hill or mountain top with a long run of coax cable brought down into a community. The Jerrold amplifiers were placed inline with the coax cable every few miles to ensure good signal strength and signal-to-noise ratio and the amplified TV signal was distributed into homes also via coax cable. The home owner paid a subscription fee for clear TV reception w/o having to erect his own antenna.
