It may not be a matter of "being afraid". A service tech can't work effectively without a schematic and parts availability, and I get the impression that Stax isn't exactly forthcoming with these items. Later units are also quite complex, with hybrid FET/tube circuitry. I own an SRM007 myself, and have yet to locate a proper service manual for it.
