"Sounds better" is a moving target born from experiencing

the differences.

In the case of something like the VRDS NEO transport, the beefier motor, magnesium disk clamp, overly engineered sled rails, all make a difference in getting more information to the DAC. It costs more, but it delivers a lot more. Whether or not that "better sound" is worth it to anyone is problematic.

Most importantly, reading about it certainly doesn't help as much as actually experiencing it....

Vishay resistors are a lot more expensive than others. Vishay resistors bring you closer to the (spec)rating/rated resistance: does the overall amp sound better when it's with 1% of spec, or 10%? The overall sound will depend on a number of factors...

What has led you to your opinion here? What are some of the higher end, SOTA rated pieces that you've heard, and where do they fall down in direct listening comparisons? For example, how does your Exposure amps compare to Ayre, Sim Audio, Blue Circle, etc? Or even some tube amp offerings from Manley, VAC, etc?

Where people had paid to see inside,
For entertainment they watch his body twist
Behind his eyes he says, 'I still exist.'"
