Can a non-physicist appreciate the beauty of a rainbow to the extent that a physicist can? IMO - yes
Can a non-physicist understand the beauty a rainbow(how the different wavelengths of light are refracted differently, why the rainbow appears in the sky directly opposite the sun, how double rainbows are created and why the order of colors in the secondary rainbow are different from the primary rainbow, etc.) to the extent that a physicist can? IMO - no
Does a lesser understanding imply a lesser appreciation? IMO - no
