An average car costs $15K to $20K, maybe a little more, and most consider a car a necessity. How much does a typical consumer type stereo cost? A few hundred dollars, maybe? and how many consider that a necessity? The ratio between what an average individual spends on a car and what one spends on a luxury car is much smaller than that which seperates the average stereo and a $50K super system.
It comes down to what one values? In our country, the arts are undervalued. It's the first thing that gets cut in schools and in other areas of community life. Is it a wonder, given this, that people, in general, are bemused by $50K audio systems, but not so much, by $50k cars?
