There is something fundamentally wrong with the mind-set that produces multi-thousand dollar products that are looked upon as disposable commodities to be thrown away when they get over five years old.
At the opposite extreme there are few examples; Quad ESL57s that are over or approaching their half century mark and Western Electric gear that's over 75 years old and still used.
It's a strange world.
