The Music First room with the original Rogers LS3/5s was my favorite room. I'd never heard LS3/5s before and they were amazing. There were systems at the show that cost ten times as much but didn't make music half as well as the shoebox sized, quarter - century old LS3/5s did. The Music First guys also had great taste in music and I went back there twice just to listen to the cool stuff they were playing (Nouvelle Vague's bossa nova cover of the Undertones' punk classic "Teenage Kicks", Elvis Presley singing "Suspicious Minds").
The Quad 57s damn near made Billie Holiday materialize in Robin Wyatt's room.
The Woo Audio headphone amp demo rooms were fun too. It was a half dozen tables with a bunch of their amps, iPads and MacBooks as sources, and an assortment of headphones; visitors were invited to choose their own music and listen to any or all of the cans. "Welcome To The Jungle" sounded wonderful on $5K Stax headphone and an $8K tube amp.
