I'm not sure where you live, but that's about 4 months rent in my area.
Part of the reason for the price, is that they moved production back to the US. This does raised the price. Even the normal version (replacement for the PPP) is more expensive. This is the high current (read big) version.
People complained they wanted more stuff made in the US, now people complain its too expensive?
You can't have it both ways.
