RE: Tried a regenerator?

Batteries are nice to have, leaving only EMI absorption, mechanical isolation, and room acoustics to worry about. However, an all battery system strongly limits equipment selection to only a handful of models of anything.

I have not found the fans on regenerators to be loud in a 70s degree room.

Some regenerators with SLA battery supplies will even provide more current than the wall, as they dip into the battery for transients and power brownouts. While that is impressive, the overall technology that each manufacturer uses in their products is the deciding factor for me.

Without using batteries, ac regeneration is the way to get consistent sound quality day and night.

As long as you realize that nothing is 100% perfect. Theoretically, the un-regenerated AC entering the ac regenerator, does not allow the ac regenerator to perform its best. And yet daisy chaining one regenerator to another, the sound is much worse.

Each regenerator has its own distortion, that should be much lower than the incoming power distortion.

My incoming voltage is usually 121V and steady all the time. I did not lack for steady power, it was about the noise on the power that created all that harsh noise in amps, preamps, and sources.

The benefit of no power generator, is not having to replace any units. I have not had any fail yet, but I've only had real quality gear since 2008. Just a matter of time.
