RE: Tried a regenerator?

Is everyone who has tried a regenerator happy with it? Can't speak for everybody but me? Yes, very. P-300

Has anyone found their sound quality to not be 100% consistent throughout the morning, afternoon, and night with one of them? No

Do they all have a loud fan? My fan is unplugged but wasn't really loud

Are they strong enough for a Bryston 3B-ST amp? I don't like regenerators with power amps and your amp could draw up to 1000 watts - not sure any regenerator could supply that. But even if it could it's my rule of thumb to never use more than half the potential of a regenerator to leave it ample headroom to operate as its circuit kind of looks like an amplifier itself. I believe in regenerators only for low current sources and still apply my "use half or less" rule to them.

Can they input 240V and output 120V? I doubt it but don't know for sure.

Do things like the upstream power cable, outlet, or a dedicated line make a difference if you're using one of them? Yes, my experience shows that those things can still improve (if good) or degrade (if not so good) the gears performance.

Anything else I should know about them? Early PS Audio regenerators provide balanced power, this newer crop does not.

Good Luck! ET
