The Sherwood Newcaste R-772. On clearance around $200. It is a HT receiver so you will have 7 more channels than needed for stereo [grin] but it does an honest (?) 100 watts RMS/channel (8 ohm). It supposedly was around a grand (list) when new, and includes a built-in auto or manual parametric EQ (handy, I hope for use for Bose 901s lacking the standard EQ)--the use I got them for. Download the manual, it's an impressive unit at the price. I got both mine off Ebay. So not a first hand review, but I am passing on a good recommendal. Tell us what you settle on. There are some cheap bastards here (like me!) in additon to all the people who spend more on their audio than most people do on a new car :)
