That is not accurate, Mr. Kait. Paypal can, and is used in many online scams. While it has more security than say mailing a money order (which is as good as sending someone cash) or wire transfer, it can still be exploited.
Do NOT drop your guard just because someone is willing to accept Paypal.
Further: According to my sources, Audiogon's troubles, as Mr. Walsh correctly asserts stem from an abusive owner at the top who hoards the site's considerable profits. There was no problem with Audiogon before this restructure; financial or otherwise. It was done cynically and callously without concern for the members or dealers who use the site. It was done precisely to get rid of the people behind the scenes who made the site great and (more importantly) safe!
Audiogon is no longer safe folks. The sheriff has left town. The cops are off the beat. Caveat emptor.
