Dan was a unique hobbyist and bit of a character . . .

I became acquainted with Dan after purchasing a pair of his LNPA 150 amps. Over the years I owned those we had several conversations and I got to meet him once during a visit to the Boston area.

Dan could easily ruffle feathers since he held some pretty strong beliefs and didn't suffer those he felt were fools -- i.e. those with beliefs he considered to be not well grounded. But agree with him or not, you knew you would always get his honest opinion. I don't think he was capable of BS.

For me part of his credibility was his parallel background in electronics and musical performance, and he never lost sight of attempting to make the former remain true to the latter. Dan started building commercial products because he felt most others failed to make that connection. But he told me he later gave up as a manufacturer because he simply grew tired of trying to convince others that was the thing to do.

It was my pleasure to know him and I'd like to add my condolences to his family.
