Sorry, I don't buy your argument. It sounds to me like a "Just following orders" defense.
It is a personal choice whether one is associated with an incompetent, unethical, or crooked organization. You have my sympathies if the organization you joined was at one time competent, ethical and honest and has taken a turn in the wrong direction as capitalism follows its path of creative destruction. Some of us have gone through similar experiences. The personal impact can be minor or major depending on personal circumstances.
