RE: Interesting finding on headfone lisening via 'fones...

If I were to compare with IEM's like Etymotic 4 series or the Westone UM2's I would say that on a clean record there are no problems with clicks and pops. Dirty records or scratched/damaged ones will sound truly heinous. This doesn't improve with any of my Grados and the EAR. The resolution is abundant and so again, if the record hasn't been cleaned, it could get nasty, to the point of being unlistenable to me anyway.

I have been lucky though of my 2000 records I'd say only 1% were truly unlistenable to the point of just trashing them. Another 5% are filled with pops and clicks but are worth the rice crispies. the rest of my vinyl is either quiet or nearly so throughout so I can't complain too much.
