One deals with the problems within electronic in terms of getting the entire range of music out at the same time. The other deals with room problems that obscure the fidelity of sound. There are, other elements that contribute to this also, but these are the most important IMHO.
I don't think omni-directional or bipolar speakers are a solution to the problems.
