Re: Tone Controls - Who uses them, who doesn't and why

Used to use them on bad recordings only... had a pretty nice Audiocontrol EQ (sort of the king of reasonably prcied units).

Was effective...later I sold it as my front-end improved the effect of even having it in "pass through" mode was audible (go figure).

Later I eventually sold it but it did do wonders for crappy recordings and/or sources.

As recordings upgraded from an average of "crappy" to an average of "cruddy", I just pretty much stopped using it since a majority of the recordings being reproduced were over all better (as we left the 80s).

Of course EVERYBODY's mileage will vary on this one...
