Slowly but surely, I've been aquiring more and more Rega componets. First, I purchased a Mira and Apollo. Great combination playing through my Triangle Antal speakers. I stumbled across a great deal on a P3 and bought an Exact2 cart for it. Now things were cooking! The synergy produced by the Rega electronics was great! Very nice sound. In my never ending quest for better sound, I came across a deal on an AR VSi55 integrated amp. Thinking this would surely ttake my system to the next level, I bought it. After three days of listening to the expensive Audio Research, it became clear that, with my system, I preferred the Rega Mira3. I called my dealer to see if I could return the AR. We agreed to exchanging it for store credit. Now I had almost 3K in store credit that I needed to spend. What to do? Since he was also a Rega dealer, I decided to turn the system into a complete Rega set up. With the credit, I purchased a Radio3, a P5 turntable and a pair of Rosenut R5 loudspeakers. This also allowed me to sell my Antals and P3 and recoup a good portion of the money I spent. Having had the all Rega set up just over a week, I have to say it's a stunning combination. Seems that all Rega componets are designed to work best with other Rega componets. The sum is truely greater than it's parts. While the Triangle's may be the better speaker in the absolute sense, the little Rega R5 just match so well with the other Rega gear to produce music that is absolutly beautiful. Is it accurate? I have no idea. What I am sure of is the fact that the total Rega system makes music that is easy to listen too for long periods of time without ever really noticing the equipment. I can't think of a higher compliment for a stereo system. It also looks great together. My speaker cables and interconnects are mid level Audioquest. I'm tempted to put in Rega cables but right now, it sounds so good I figure I should just leave well enough alone. Very happy with the Rega system. I've never seen a store that could demostrate an all Rega set up. I think any Rega dealer out there should do just that. It's how they are made to work and they sound their best when used together.
