I bought my wife a small Canon 5 mega pixel digital camera a year ago. I showed her how to charge and swap the AA batteries plus basic camera operation in "program auto" mode. She uses it a lot (but I still have to download the pics to the PC for her).I on the other hand have a Nikon F100 that is rarely used. It is practically brand new even though I've owned it for several years. Same for my 35-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 Nikon lenses. In hind sight, those were a waste of money because I never use them. I use my Olympus 8 mega pixel digital camera a lot or the tiny Fuji point and shoot 35mm.
