Mfr's need to design better packaging

71.35.187.41

This is a general comment on a reoccurring theme on these pages.
Damaged goods and blaming it on the shipping companies.

Although there may be legitamate claims of damage or abuse noted by consumers, I find that much of the problem can be placed back with the mfr of the product.

Trucking companies don't take the time (nor could they afford to) place the SuperDuper 2000 orgasmic preamp on a feather bed pillow for point to point delivery. The boxes skid around on conveyor belts and drop sometimes from waist high right from the drivers hands to the hard ground.

Many hi-end mfr can't afford proper mechanical or packaging design and suffer the consequences.

I would bet money that in 80% of the claims made here can be determined to be caused by improperly designed packaging. In my experience, before shipment I've reviewed the factory packaging and determined on my own that the packaging may not stand up to the ride, and have taken extra measures to re-enforce the stock packaging, with extra internal padding, and adding sometimes a 3rd box on the outside.

You mileage may vary
