Ray Kimber,Leiden is indeed an interesting place to visit and actually is high on my list of the best places to live in the World- a charming, small scale city and with an amazing intellectual and cultural history through the famous university, and a quaint architecture- a great spot. Rembrandt, Dou, Metsu, and Steen are associated with Leiden, there's some great old churches with historic pipe organs, and it was an early printing centre. I think of Leiden as a kind of Dutch equivalent of Cambridge, England.
-I didn't know until today, it's apparently a centre for street organ competitions,..
Leiden U. had some famous scientific work accomplished there too- I think Einstein spent some time there. -And for some audio content, the capacitor was invented there- the Leyden Jar.
Cheers,
