OT: Pre-paid Cellphones for Italy & Greece?

My wife and I will be in Italy & Greece for a couple weeks this summer.
Is there a way to get pre-paid cellphones that will allow us to communicate locally with each other and call home to the USA a few times?
I don't want to switch to a GSM based service here as my company pays for my non-GSM cellphone. I just need something temporary and reliable for our two week trip.
