Anyone have experience troubleshooting problems with Sony/BMI music copy protected discs?

I have a Foo Fighters CD, In Your Honor, that I bought off of ebay and it will not play on my computer without the obnoxious "clicks" which I understand is the copy protection kicking in. I know it's the copy protection because the disc plays fine in any of about 4 free-standing cd players.

Here's the thing, I went to the Sony BMI website and downloaded the rootkit uninstaller, which, as I am sure everyone knows by now, Sony/BMI agreed to give out for free as part of the settlement of the class-action and other lawsuits that were filed against Sony/BMI for pulling this obnoxious stunt (see here: http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/updates.html) and the rootkit uninstaller says "XPC [the obnoxious copy protection rootkit software] is not detected on this computer"....

I still can't play the CD.

The uninstaller allows you to choose "uninstall XPC software" even after it tells you that it cannot detect the XPC software on this computer, so I tried that.

I still can't play the CD.

Anyone have any experience with this nonsense?

Sure would like to listen to my Foo Fighters CD.
