I doubt if the Marantz would flatter your guitar much, but it shouldn't hurt the Marantz. I did lots of stuff like that when I was a teen- was an expert at finding where to tap into portable radios, tv's, anything. Guitar amps usually have a much hotter front end (first stage), and some intentional distortion to give some sustain, fatness, and "chime" to the instrument. Audio amps are designed to be clean and amplify a std preamp signal. Why don't you trade your current guitar amp for one of the smaller (8-17 watt) tube guitar amps? there are many of them out there now and most of them sound pretty good, and you can overdrive them in a house or apt for the best sound.
