You might talk to the people at The Cable Company. They have a "lending library" of speaker cables and interconnects that you can borrow. They also sell used cables.It may be that your new preamp just won't work in your situation. I used to live in a Boston suburb that had 3 or 4 broadcasting towers within a mile or two of my house. Some equipment simply wouldn't work in all that RFI. The high gain MC version of the Naim Stageline phono preamp was reduced to emitting a constant buzz by the RFI. A CJ phono stage was OK when playing music but the gaps between songs were filled with the local oldies FM station. On the other hand the Linn Linto phono stage was oblivious to the RFI. Your preamp may have an inherent design quirk or flaw that makes it especially vulnerable to RFI.
