I feel your pain. It's a problem just driving by the tower on some car radios I've had. There's a paint you can get that rejects RF. Also since you say its less with cans that would indicate the amp and speaker wire are adding to the problem. I assume the cans connect to the pre. There are also those metal tube shields.
