Take Bruce's advice

find a new or used HHb standalone cd recording deck for that kind of money. Record player will probably need a preamp however into the recorder. Mine did. I had a Rega 2 with an AA Vac-in-the-box pre feeding into my HHb cdr recorder. Worked great. One caveat however, converting vinyl to digital is a pain in the ass. Play one side, stop the recorder, flip the record play the other side. Oh an you have to manually insert the index points between the tracks on the record as well as set the optimum record level for each disc. I sold my Rega 2, pre and 650 records last year as it was just too damn much trouble and you can buy what you want on commercially available cd's from half.com or Ebay or amazon at great prices that sound better.
