I thought this would bring out the "my baby/grandchild/whatever is brighter than yours" brigade - the people who don't realise that they're indecently exposing their own perceived inadequacies and anxieties for all to see. The only thing I'm ever going to say about my granddaughter in a public place is that she's sweet and lovely and enjoys her wonderful life.Had his parents paid a registered child psychologist enough at the time the latter would have written a certificate stating that the infant George W. Bush had genius potential. Thankfully they had better things to do with their time.
And I always wonder - Mozart was by all accounts a musically precocious child (I object to using the word "genius" - he advanced the form and content of music not one little bit). How was that? His parents never played Mozart to him as an infant - he hadn't written it yet.
