I have for many many years I have tried to stopped doing dangerous things.
I try to make everything I do, including riding a motocycle, as non-dangerous as I can.
Whenever some tells me a story about someone they knew and this person was killed/hurt in a motorcycle accident, I tell them this.To each there own.
If you hear the story and choose not to ride, that's fine.
If you hear the story and you choose to continue riding, that's fine.I found a story in the newspaper about an older gent (I wasn't an older gent when I found the story, but I am now!) that was in some town in upstate NY. Sitting in his Lazy-Boy recliner watching the news. A part of a plane broke off, yes you guessed it, crashed through the roof of his house and killed him.
For some, sitting in a Lazy-Boy can be very dangerous.
So, I think it all depends on what you consided dangerous.I have no interest in sky diving, but if I was a sky diver, I would sky dive, because I would like to sky diving.
People died skiing, mountain climbing, surfing, scuba diving, driving to the store, eating diner, having sex, playing basketball, crossing the street, walking in a parking lot, you name it.......they have died doing it.
I enjoy riding motorcycles and I feel safe when I do it.
Everyone is different.I would ride a bull (not a real one!), it does not interest me, but it interests some people.
To each their own.
