excellent book

I'm almost through it now. There is much to chew on regarding how the brain processes music. For example, a human recognizes a melody whether it is transposed in pitch, sped up, slowed down, or played on completely different instruments.

What is really great is that this guy is no snob and points out examples from classical and pop indiscriminately and he is a real music lover, which comes through in every paragraph.
