Quite often I see posters apologizing for long posts. Yet, it seems to me that many times the long posts are the most valuable.

True.

I think the apologies come from those who realize we live in a world of soundbites and some folks may experience some pain and discomfort spending more than 10 seconds reading a post.

What I find odd are posts which have "(long)" at the end of the subject only to find that the post is no more than a few paragraphs.


So, what is the etiquette for posting? Is there sensitivity to long posts?

There may be for some, but I wouldn't worry about it. No one's forced to read anything here.
