Thanks for all your advice. My CDs have all arrived safely. As someone suggested, I wanted to rip them all but due to time constrains I could do very little. I put often played discs in hand luggage and others in check in. My original plan was to have one suitcase full of discs but changed after G Squared's comment that too much plastic may be suspicious. I packed the discs into 3 cartoon boxes, put two in one suitcase and the other in another and filled the remaining space in the suitcase with personal items. By God's grace nothing seems to have been lost or broken.
