Me, Tim and Doug who wore glasses and had long black curly hair were it.They had planned on shutting the store but they gave Tim and I a shot and we boosted their numbers 2000 % in the first month so they lavished attention on us all ultimately to no avail as the whole Co. went belly up shortly after Tim and I left before the new year in '83.We were always given the liberty to set whatever price we wanted. I saw plenty of stuff go out the door at cost but that was the philosophy.Create buzz by blasting stuff out cheap hoping to make it back in volume.Unsustainable.I don't recall how they ranked us salesmen weather by numbers of sales or profit margin but i made it to number 8 company wide after just a few months up in Dedham.At $2.75/hr the sales based profit sharing was the motivation.Seka on the Nova-beam, Roxy Music on the Ohm F's, Ouzo in the coffee, the rest is confidential :)
