Of course, in the cold light of day, it's a sign of the times and a bad sign at that. Far too many people are convinced that the 100w per channel Home Theater In A Box system they see at Costco for $299.00 is all they need. Subsequently, too few people visited stores like Tweeter for their sound systems resulting in the loss of even the larger chains. Most independants have long since died as we all know. The only ones still around are those who do well with installations.
It's a real shame. TV/Audio entheusiasts can no longer make a decent living selling what they are crazy about.
All because too few people have a clue about what really impressive sound systems are all about.
I work with about 100 others and most of them are quite happy spending $2-3k on a TV, but the idea of speanding $2k on the sound system to them is crazy.
