Also besides the source, I have found that the quality of the interconnects, power cords and speaker cable can add to unwanted brightness.It sounds like you have a pretty nice setup, the Triangles definitely are sensitive to the source component. Perhaps the new Rotel CDP would be more at home in your system? I had a similar problem with Musical Fidelity CDP brightness, I added into the chain a Bel-Canto DAC (converting the MF to a transport) and it cleared a bit. When I upgraded the power cords on all components every hint of brightness went away (less noise).
If you are still using the flimsy power cords that came with the components I would look into upgrading them one by one as time goes on. In the immediate future, the Sony has got to go in my opinion, especially if you don't use it for video/sacd.
Again this is just IMHO.
