I highly recommend the 701. The glowing reviews they have received are well deserved. They are very revealing and open sounding. I own AKG K1000's, and was able to borrow my friend's 701's while he was away on a long vacation. I have contemplated purchasing a pair, but I don't know if I need another pair of headphones. They do leak sound outwards, but I don't recall that outside noise effected my listening very much.I don't think that you would go wrong to spend the extra money on the AKG's. Headphones are already a relative bargain, since you are able to purchase superlative headphones for under $300 that will many things as well or better than loudspeakers that cost thousands of dollars.
