You should find that the current entry-level Rotel integrated amp (1062?) and CD player (1072?), and Paradigm Studio 20 speakers, are in keeping with your clean/clear/dynamic preferences, but they won't do as well for classical. They are good values, and routinely show up used on Audiogon.HOWEVER, I would recommend that you try to listen to a variety of gear, even if it's well out of your price range, to truly determine what aspects of sound quality you enjoy the most. For example, would you be willing to sacrifice a degree of clarity for more midrange richness? And give yourself time to become accustomed to new sound qualities. You may find that the longer you listen to it, the more that midrange richness strikes you as sounding boxy. Once you've gotten your sonic preferences sorted out, gear selection should get a lot easier.
Also, demo cables to see if you can hear their influence. If you can't, congrats, you just saved money. I find that even entry-level cables have appreciable sonic signatures, but you may not. Lower end Kimber Kables are in keeping with your stated preferences, if you'd like to start with something to demo.
And remember, even if you have to get smaller speakers now, you can always add a sub later. Oh, and as your equipment gets better, you'll find that you can turn your system up A LOT louder without realizing it. It's much fun. :)
