That's unusual, as you said. I'm impressed by your commitment to helping fellow audiophiles and, at the same time, having a good time and getting it past "she who must be obeyed".

Oh yes, the last paragraph was a lovely note to finish on. I did not attend RMAF (much to my disappointment, I was working overseas at that time) but I did hear that system at the previous CES playing Elvis studio takes that took my breath away.
