The Audiogon system does not show the sellers email address. You have to repond using the "send email" option, which is supposed to send your email to the seller and a copy to you. Only when you get a response from the seller do you get his email address.You only know if your email has been sent if you look for your copy in your own email system. While it works most of the time, when it does not, it can really mess things up.
