Re: John Dunlavy Passed away , Jan 2007

On my way home after listening to a friend's new Dunlavy speakers, I remember thinking to myself, "those are the finest speakers I've ever heard, I wish they weren't so expensive, how can I get a pair?" Well, I got mine in 1990 and I'm still enjoying them.

Because of owning Dunlavy speakers, I had the opportunity to share several conversations with John Dunlavy over the years. I grew to appreciate his speakers more and better understand his design objectives with every visit.

Aside from his speakers, what I learned about John was that he gained great knowledge in his lifetime, that he held very high standards for himself and anything associated with his name, and he was not a man to compromise his principles. His family will miss him, the audio industry will miss him, I will miss him. Godspeed Mr. D.
