My wife had a similar problem and infection with high fever.Heavy dose of antibiotics was prescribed by the ENT.It took some time for automatic draining of the tube.I would suggest you get expert advice as early as you can.
The ENT told me that once this happens there is a chance of the tube losing a little bit of its elasticity which makes it vulnerable to further infections.Therefore it is important that you get it treated without delay.Take care
