Hello Mattcecill: I like your answer to guskund. You mention you have good experience placing your subwoofer over a set of three brass spikes (I assume you mean brass cones) I have the same good experience: my Velodyne Digital Drive DD-15 is over a set of three Megamounts + a 4" thick mapleshade platform + four threaded Megamounts (6 mm thread) + Auralex + 2" thick marble platform. Results are unbeleivable. I know it is a bit complex or sophisticated estructure, but having my system over a suspended wood floor I needed first to reject the vibrations coming up from the floor (marble platform) then the Auralex at the center of the structure to absorb all the macro vibrations and micro vibrations coming both from the subwoofer (drained to it through the Megamounts) and from the floor. Extraordinary results. I have tried other subwoofers just over the Auralex with good results too. Best, Antonio Machado.
